This month I have had a wonderful time teaching a new workshop.. candle making!
I have been making these candles myself to sell for several years now. They are always a popular seller when I have a stall at an event and my lovely crochet club have been asking me to teach them for some time so it felt like a long overdue addition to the Re-made repertoire!
My kitchen is fairly teeny so I kept the groups to 2 or 3 and spent two Wednesday evenings teaching some enthusiastic ladies how to make their own teacup candles. In preparation I spent a fun few hours sorting out some beautiful teacups for them to choose between and laying out the soy wax, scent and dye.
They loved choosing the colours for their candles and matching them to their teacups. One lady brought a very special teacup with her which had been given to her by her Grandma and she chose a beautiful pink shade. They then chose their scents- I had lots to choose between: berries and vanilla, strawberry and champagne, peppermint, sandalwood and lavender to name a few…
The results looked stunning and the ladies thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
In fact it went so well that I have decided to organise some more dates!!
So if you would like to learn how to make a teacup (or sugar bowl, milk jug, sundae glass..) candle I have arranged two more candle making dates:
Tuesday 12th July 10am-12pm
Wednesday 13th July 7.30pm-9.30pm
Venue: My house in Tring.
The cost is £25 which includes everything you need to make one candle plus a small starter kit to take home so that you can practise!
I’ll be keeping group sizes to 2 or 3 so book soon ! (by emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org)
Alternatively if you have a small group (of 2 or 3) who would like to do the workshop together, email me and we can arrange a mutually convenient time for a private candle making class. Why not bring your own prosecco and make it into a fun, girly night out!
I’m already looking forward to making more candles!
