Classes and Workshops
I am a qualified teacher and experienced crafter. Over the last two years I have taught many people to crochet including left handers, people who have never done any crafting before and accomplished knitters who have always wanted to crochet. Class numbers are kept small so that we can work at your individual pace and I usually have one of my lovely assistants on hand to offer support.
Classes are fun and relaxing and we always provide tea and cake!
If crochet isn’t your thing I also offer other fun craft workshops such as rag wreath making and felt flowers. These projects are simple to make yet very effective so the workshops make a relaxing and rewarding day out.
These courses are suitable for complete beginners. All yarn is provided and you will also receive your own crochet hook to keep! Courses take place over three weeks, during which time you will learn basic crochet stitches, and by the end of the course will be able to make a mobile phone case or mug warmer, rose brooch and granny square.
“I went to Sam’s Beginners class a year ago and I haven’t stopped crocheting since!”
These workshops are suitable for people with some crochet experience who are looking for a new project, or to extend their skills. These are usually one-day workshops, and it may be necessary to finish your project at home but you will be given all of the skills and materials to do this during the workshop.
Join me for a fun session induldging your creative side!
Get crafty and make a beautiful creation to take home while enjoying the relaxed, friendly atmosphere that we provide.
These workshops are suitable for everybody – no experience of crafting is required.
“Thank you for another brilliant workshop. I smiled all the way home.”
If you have a love, and at least basic experience, of crochet why not join one of my crochet clubs? This is a great opportunity to talk patterns, receive support with your projects and meet other crochet-lovers!
Some people prefer to learn individually so I also offer one-to-one classes. I work closely with my one to one students to ensure that classes can be tailored to meet your needs. Once you have learnt the basics we are able to plan projects of your choosing. Some of the projects my one to one students have worked on recently with me include soft toys, a baby cardigan, chair seat pads, a mermaid tail blanket and a scarf. Contact me to discuss one-to-one classes.
Courses and Workshops generally take place at the Ivinghoe Old School Hub or Nora Grace Hall, Tring. Sessions are relaxed and informal, and feature tea, coffee and delicious cake!
