I can’t believe we are in December and only a few weeks away from Christmas and the end of the year! This has been my third year of Re-made by Sam and once again I have enjoyed every minute of it! This year, as well as having lots of fun with my re-makes, I have been teaching more. I love the teaching and feel so lucky to have been able to expand this side of the business. I get to design patterns, share my passion for crafts and crochet and the best bit of all is meeting like minded people and making wonderful friends.
I now run several crochet lessons during the week from my home in Tring as well as weekend workshops at Ivinghoe. There are a range of classes available designed for different ability levels so there’s something for everyone. One of the most important aspects of the classes is that they are fun and relaxing: tea, cake and chatter are vital!
Next Saturday I will be running my last workshop of the year- a Christmas rag wreath making workshop. I have already run two of these and have been delighted with the beautiful wreaths that the ladies have made (I’m yet to have a man attend one of my workshops but they would be very welcome!!)
I still have a couple of spaces available on the next workshop on Saturday 12th December 10.30am-12.30pm at Ivinghoe Old School Hub. The price is £30 which includes everything you need to make one wreath plus refreshments, so please get in touch if you’d like to join us!! You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or comment below with your email address.
In January I will be teaching a 3 week beginners crochet class on Saturday mornings, also at Ivinghoe Old School Hub. This is the perfect course for someone who is looking for a new hobby for the new year. I have blogged before about how crochet has changed my life. I took it up when pregnant with my youngest at a time when I felt desperate to do something for me and I fell in love with it! I have crocheted every day since and still love nothing more than to spend a spare hour or two with hook in hand working on a new project. It’s a great distraction from everyday worries and is fun and relaxing once you get the hang of it. I keep my beginners crochet groups small so that we can go at everybody’s individual pace and have my wonderful assistant Claire on hand at all times!
Finally, I have planned a lovely Spring flower crochet workshop for February, just in time for Mother’s Day gift making! This is an intermediate workshop designed for people who can crochet but are looking for a fun new project. There will be three Re-made by Sam flower patterns available- a daisy, daffodil and pansy. You may choose to try one, two or all three! These flowers make beautiful brooches, hairclips, garlands or embellishments for bags and clothes. I’ll have some brooch backs, clips and ribbons available for people who want to try this on the workshop.
These are one off workshops on Saturday 13th and Saturday 27th February 10.30am-1pm and the cost of the workshop is £30 which will include one hook, yarn, patterns for a daisy, pansy and daffodil and tea/coffee and cake. As this is a one off workshop you only need to book one date (although you are welcome to attend both if you would like to!!) Let me know if you’d like to book your place (NB I do ask for payment on booking to secure the place).
Thank you so much to everyone for your continued support, here’s to a busy new year! And perhaps I’ll see you at one of my workshops!
Ps there are some lovely reviews of my courses on my facebook page which you are welcome to pop over and read but here are some highlights…
