It’s been a fun but busy month at Re-made by Sam HQ! We have a lot of family birthdays in May, including mine, my hubbys and my youngest daughters so it was a whirlwind of soft play, family dinners and a day of shopping (for ME!) which may have involved a visit to Cath K 😉
The month was topped with a weekend of camping with family and friends, and for once it all seemed to come together in our favour- the weather was lovely, the children are finally at an age where we can relax a bit and make the most of the freedom offered by a campsite and lots of fun was had by all…
This morning brought that feeling of back to reality. We’re on half term at the moment so while the children slept in I put the washing on and sat down to spend some time thinking about work..
June brings not one, not two, but THREE new beginners crochet courses!
The first is a Tuesday morning course which will be held at The Spotted Sheep yarn shop in Leighton Buzzard. This is a lovely venue with the added bonus of being in the studio of a rather fabulous yarn shop, so there are plenty of supplies to be purchased once you have got the crochet bug. Jacqui and Sheila also kindly offer a 10% discount to my crochet students on the first day of the course.
The other two beginners crochet courses take place on Fridays or Saturdays at Ivinghoe Old School Hub, on the green in Ivinghoe next to the children’s playground. This is a beautiful old venue with high ceilings and lots of light and a cafe right there in the same building!
In September I’ll also be running an evening course on Wednesdays at the Nora Grace Hall, let me know if you would like any information about this.
All of the beginners crochet courses take the same format. They are run over 3 weeks during which I teach the basic crochet stitches and we work on three mini projects: mobile phone cases, rose brooches and granny squares. I keep groups small so that we can work at a pace that matches everybody’s individual needs. When groups are larger than 4 I have my lovely assistant, Claire, on hand to help and I keep to a maximum number of 6 for the beginners crochet courses. Classes are fun, relaxing and there’s always chatter, laughter and tea and cake!
If you would like to find out more about my courses you can read a guest blog from a recent student here.
If you haven’t signed up for a beginners crochet course yet there are still one or two places available on each of these courses, so please do get in touch! You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Hope to see you soon!
