Hello!! And here we are at week 13, with only 2 more weeks to go!! I can’t quite believe it!!Our blankets are getting so big now that I’m finding it hard to find the space to lay mine out flat. Today I resorted to lying it on my patio and clambering on a garden chair to take a photo!! It’s also getting tricky to take a pic that really shows off all the stitches- here’s a few of my attempts:
So I thought I would challenge you with a little competition for the best spring blanket photograph! Send me your pics of your blanket, I will choose my favourite four and ask my facebook followers to vote for their favourite photo. The winner and runners up with all receive a bundle of crochet goodies. Your blanket doesn’t have to be finished and you can enter as many pics as you like. As long as it features your blanket it can be taken anywhere, with any theme!! Competition closes May 31st. You can share your pics on my fb page here: spring blanket comp or email or text them to me, whichever you prefer!!
As the blankets get bigger it’s taking more yarn to get round! There’s been a little bit of yarn chicken going on with me and Debs while making ours! It may be that you need to buy more yarn if you are keeping to my colour choices (I haven’t had to yet but it will depend on your tension), but do feel free to be flexible with colours and perhaps choose one that you have more of!!
This week just had to be about the bluebells!! We are very lucky where we live, we are surrounded by beautiful woodland full of bluebells. We normally head up to Ashridge at this time of year for our annual bluebell walk but life has been a bit too hectic to fit it in. So when I was taking my son to his football match in Prestwood on Sunday and drove past this beautiful wood I just had to stop the car and admire the view!
I’ve even designed a special stitch for you this week… the bluebell stitch!!

I’m nearly caught up with my vintage version and will share a photo this week. Colours will be 62- duck egg, 63- storm blue, 64&65- camel
