Spring Blanket CAL week 6

Morning all! And welcome to week 6! I hope week 5 wasn’t too frustrating for you with all those chains, picots and slip stitches, I had a few people comment on the mind stretching that was required, tee hee!! But you all did so well to persevere and thank you for sharing your lovely photos, all of your blankets are looking beautiful. Here’s a little round up:

It’s been a funny week weather wise- I think we’ve seen a bit of everything- sunshine, rain, wind, hail and even snow!! But on those sunny days the spring flowers are really starting to come out and I am especially enjoying seeing the blossom begin to appear on the trees. So this week is all about the blossom!! We’ll be revisiting the puff stitch (eek!!) interspersed with double crochets which represents the delicate tones of pink and white in the flowers. 

Spring Brights:

36- fondant, 37-white, 38- clematis, 39- white, 40- aster

Muted Vintage:

36- pale rose, 37- white, 38- mushroom, 39- white, 50- lincoln

Special stitches:

Mini puff: yoh, put hook through space, yoh, pull yarn back through (3 loops), yoh, put hook back through space, yoh, pull back through (5 loops), yoh, put hook back through space, yoh, pull back through (7 loops), yoh pull through all 7 loops. TIP: pull the loops on the hook up high each time so that there’s plenty of space to work through.

Round 36 – join new colour in any corner space, #in the same space make (1 mini puff stitch, ch2, 1 mini puff) ch1, skip one stitch, *make 1 mini puff in the following stitch, ch1, skip one stitch** ##, repeat from * to ** along the side of the square ##, repeat from # to ## 3 more times, sl st to top of first mini puff stitch, fasten off (64 mini puffs on each side of the square)

Round 37- join new colour in any corner space, in same space make (1dc, ch2, 1dc), #*ch1, skip puff, make 1dc in next ch1 space**, repeat from * to ** all the way along the edge of the square, ch1, in the corner space make (1dc, ch2, 1dc)##, repeat from # to ## twice more, then from * to ** all the way along the last edge of the square, ch1, sl st to first dc,, fasten off

Round 38- join new colour in any corner space, #in the same space make (1 mini puff stitch, ch2, 1 mini puff) ch1, skip one stitch, *make 1 mini puff in the following chain space, ch1, skip one stitch** ##, repeat from * to ** along the side of the square ##, repeat from # to ## 3 more times, sl st to top of first mini puff stitch, fasten off (66 mini puffs on each side of the square)

Round 39- repeat round 37

Round 40 – join new colour in any ch2 corner space, ch3, make (1tr, ch2, 2tr) in same space, #*make 1tr in the dc, make 1tr in the one chain space**, repeat from * to **along the edge of the square make 1tr in last stitch , in corner space make (2tr, ch2, 2tr)##, repeat from # to ## twice more, repeat from * to ** along the last edge of the square, sl st to 3rd of 3ch, fasten off (137 trebles along each side)
