Spring Flower Blanket CAL – week 3

posted in: Crochet Along | 0

Welcome to week 3! Our blankets are really starting to take shape now and I have loved seeing your photos in the spring blanket facebook group. Thank you so much for sharing, here’s just a few of them:

We had some lovely sunny spells last week and the snowdrops and crocuses have really come into bloom now! I planted out a lot of primroses this week too- I love the bright shades that they’re available in. Those of you who watched my live will know that me and my husband had an impulsive weekend away in Bournemouth this weekend. There were some lovely sunny moments and I got some good pics of the daffodils that were out in the hotel garden. I haven’t made week 3 of my cotton blanket yet so I’m going to use a lot of yellow in that to represent these daffodils- and I love the fact that I will always remember our weekend when I look at the blanket.

You may have noticed that each round is now taking longer to work! I would love some feedback on how manageable you are finding the time commitment and how long it’s actually taking you, so I’d be really grateful if you could comment below to let me know 🙂

This week I have added 6 more rounds. We’ll start with another round of half trebles, then over rounds 20 and 21 will repeat the flower rounds from last week- in my spring brights blanket I’ve used a lovely orangey yellow to represent more crocuses. The next few rounds are very much about bringing in the background colours in your garden with rounds 23 and 24 being rounds of trebles that can be used to show off the shades of springtime that are popping up in your garden.

Stitch Reminder:

Half treble (htr) – yarn over hook (yoh), put hook through stitch, yoh, pull back through, you will have 3 loops on the hook, yoh, pull through all 3 loops.

Treble (tr) – yarn over hook (yoh), put hook through stitch, yoh, pull back through, you will have 3 loops on the hook, yoh, pull through the first 2 loops, yoh, pull through the last 2 loops.
